What the picture shows

The cat faces you with pricked ears and amber eyes; the long fur is built from short stitches in many shades — from cool grey to violet and pink — so that it seems to glow. A bead on a ribbon hangs at its neck. Flowers open around its head in lilac, crimson and terracotta, their leaves drawn in a thin line. The white canvas stays open at the edges. Forty-six floss colours and 109 m of thread — the most in this group. The fur is worked in short stitches following the direction of growth — it is direction rather than colour that gives the fluff.
