Description
“Blue Lagoon” is a turquoise wave running up the shore below green cliffs.
What the picture shows
Water takes the lower half: the crest of the wave is worked in white and azure beads, behind it lie turquoise and emerald bands, and pale sand comes closer to the shore. Green mountains with dark ravines rise behind, and a pine leans in from the left with spreading branches. Cumulus clouds in white and grey beads and a band of clear sky fill the top. Pink, yellow and lilac flowers bloom in the right foreground; the sand and part of the sky stay as printing on the canvas. The foam on the crest is made of single white beads set loosely, so it looks light rather than drawn as a solid row. The pine on the left enters the frame only partly, which makes the view feel wider.
