Talisman Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "Traveller' Prayer (Russian text)"

“Traveller’ Prayer” shows Saint Nicholas, long asked for protection on the road.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown half-length in a tall mitre set with blue stones and in gold vestments patterned with small crosses. His right hand is raised in blessing, his left holds a blue Gospel with gold ornament on the cover. The halo is red and the ground pale green, and that ground stays as printing on the canvas. The beads go into the border: a red field with crosses and diamonds of yellow and white beads at the top and bottom, and a gold line of bugle beads all the way round. Five bead colours give the border real depth for such a small piece. The prayer on the back of the banner is printed in Russian. The crosses in the border echo the small crosses on the saint’s vestments.
