“Prayer to Saint Matrona” stands out in the series thanks to its green-and-white border.

What the picture shows

Saint Matrona is shown in a green dress and a white kerchief, her eyes closed; her right hand is raised and her left holds a prayer rope. The ground is ochre-yellow with a faint plant pattern, the halo is wide and pale, and an inscription runs on either side of her head. The image stays printed and the beading goes into the border, which here is not red like most kits in the series but a diamond lattice of white, green, gold and dark beads. The green picks up the colour of the saint’s dress. The prayer on the back of the banner is printed in Russian; the same kit with a Ukrainian text has its own article number. Dark beads among the white ones give the border a depth that a single flat colour would not.
