Description

“The magic of the clover” is a four-leaf clover with heart-shaped leaves.

What the picture shows

The four leaves form a regular cross and almost touch one another. Each is heart-shaped with the notch facing outwards, and all four are wound in two shades of green: the darker along the edge and the lighter towards the middle, so each leaf seems lit from within. The stem curves downwards and uses the darkest thread. Forty-five Preciosa No. 6 beads are scattered over the leaves, and hemisphere-shaped glass stones are fixed at the centre where the four notches meet. There are four thread colours, 65 m in all.

The paper template is laid over the board and the nails are driven straight through it at the marks. The kit holds 65 m of thread, and the work usually takes an evening or two. The threads are wound one colour after another, exactly as the chart shows.
