“Sunflower” is a sunflower in a glass jar filled with the light of a garland.

What the picture shows

A sunflower opens at the top of the dark board: the petals are wound in orange and yellow thread and spread out like rays, while the centre is dark, almost brown, with a dense crossing of strands. Below runs a green stem with two leaves, and under it stands a jar whose outline is drawn in pale thread. An LED garland is placed inside the jar, so it glows as if filled with light. The kit holds seven thread colours, 56 m in all, most of it going on the petals and leaves.

The board is 190×290 mm and hangs on the wall without a frame. The work is of average difficulty: the petals and the centre need different winding densities. The green leaves around the panel in the photograph are styling props. The threads are wound one colour after another, exactly as the chart shows. The image comes out of the crossings of the thread, so how dense the lines look depends on how many times you pass between the nails. The board needs no painting or extra preparation — it comes ready to work on.
