“Night walk” is the silhouette of a cat walking against a black night field.

What the picture shows

This piece is built the other way round from the rest of the range: the thread fills not the figure but everything around it. Black thread covers the board densely, while the cat is left as bare pale wood, so the silhouette reads as if cut out of the night. The cat walks to the right, its back stretched and tail up, legs set apart in mid-step. A yellow crescent moon is wound in the upper right corner with an LED garland inside it, and that is the only light in the composition. There are two thread colours, 53 m in all, almost all of it going on the black ground.

The board is 190×290 mm (7.48×11.42 in) and the black ground covers nearly all of it. It has to be wound evenly or the gaps show at once. The panel hangs on the wall without a frame. The panel is hung on the wall as it is: string art needs no frame and no glass. The paper template is laid over the board and the nails are driven straight through it at the marks.
