Description

A turquoise retro camper van has stopped on a forest track between firs — “Thirst for adventure” is painted in broad planes of colour.

What the picture shows

The composition builds into depth: a sandy track with stones and shrubs in front, the pale van with a roof rack in the middle, a wall of dark green firs behind it, and beyond that blue mountains and a pale sun in a cream sky. A small flock of birds crosses above the treetops. The drawing is deliberately simplified: no fine detail, only large flat patches of green, turquoise, ochre and brown. Nineteen paints at an easy level — precisely because the areas are large and the borders between them are clean. The firs are painted as silhouettes with no detail, and the mountains in three shades of blue that lighten towards the peaks.
