Description

“St. Zoe” is a martyr in a tall white-and-blue headdress. Red robes and a warm gold ground.

What the picture shows

The saint stands frontally, her gaze level and direct. A tall headdress worked in white and blue beads covers her head, with long pale bands falling on both sides onto her shoulders. The outer robe is red, a solid field with soft folds at the bottom. Her right hand is raised to her chest. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays. The canvas is edged with a narrow gold band with red accents at the corners; a rectangular name plaque takes up the lower part. Beads cover the headdress, the robe, the halo and the border, while the face and the hand stay printed on the canvas; most of the golden radiance also stays print.
