Description

“St. Zinaida” is a saint with a small vessel and a casket — signs of her work as a healer. A red veil, green robes.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, her head slightly bowed. A red veil covers her head and shoulders, falling in soft folds. Green-turquoise clothing worked in beads of two tones runs below. Her right hand holds a small dark vessel, and a casket with a dark pattern shows at the lower left. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays. A gold border runs along the whole edge, and the lower part of the image is taken up by a name plaque between two ornaments. The clothing, the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the golden rays stay printed on the canvas.
