Description

“St. Vyacheslav” is a prince in a gold crown with a cross on a long shaft. A red cloak and deep blue robes.

What the picture shows

The prince is shown to the waist, with a fair beard and a gold crown studded with small stones. A red cloak falls from his shoulders in wide folds, with deep blue clothing worked in dense rows of beads beneath. Both hands hold a gold cross on a long shaft in front of him. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays with red dots at the top. A pale name plaque closes the composition at the bottom between two ornamental squares, and a narrow gold border runs round the edge. The clothing, the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the golden rays stay printed on the canvas.
