Description

“St. Vsevolod” is a mini icon of the holy prince in a crown and red cloak. The piece is vertical, 100×150 mm; the figure fills almost the whole field.

What the picture shows

The prince is shown half-length, with a grey beard and a calm face. His crown is low, set with blue, red and green stones along the band. The cloak is a dense red, and symmetrical blue and yellow ornaments lie across it like embroidered tassels. In his hands he holds a dark cross on a long shaft, worked in black and silvery beads, which runs the length of the lower part of the image. The halo is gathered from amber rings, and the golden rays behind stay as print on the art canvas. A three-line cartouche runs below, with gold rosettes on red in the corners.
