Description

“St. Valentine” is a martyr in a violet veil with a dark cross. The most concise colour scheme here — violet on gold.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, her head slightly turned. The veil and outer robe are worked in violet beads in several tones, from pale lilac at the edge to deep dark in the folds. Her right hand, raised to her chest, holds a dark cross with even arms. The halo is worked in two rings of amber beads, golden rays fan out behind it, and small red accents sit along the top of the canvas. The beading takes the robe, the halo and the plaque frame, while the face and the hand remain printed, and the radiance stays print as well.
