Description

“St. Trophimus” is a mini icon of the apostle in a red himation. It is the largest piece in the batch by count: about 2,261 beads on a small field of 100×150 mm.

What the picture shows

The apostle is shown half-length, with fair hair and a short dark beard. His himation is a deep red laid in even rows; a collar of pearl beads sits at his neck, and a blue tunic in two shades shows from under the cloak. His right hand is raised palm forward, his left holds a small dark object. The halo is a broad ring of amber beads, and the golden rays behind stay as print on the art canvas, showing between the rows of stitching. A two-line cartouche sits below, flanked by beaded rosettes on gold.
