Description

“St. Pelagia” is a martyr in a blue veil and green robes, with a dark cross. Green and blue instead of the usual red.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, her head slightly turned. The veil is worked in blue beads of two tones, framing her face closely and falling onto her shoulders. The outer robe is green, a wide field crossed below the chest by a red belt. Her right hand, raised to shoulder height, holds a dark cross with even arms. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays. The canvas is edged with a narrow gold band with red accents at the corners; a rectangular name plaque takes up the lower part. The robe, the ring of the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the gold ground are left to the print.
