Description

“St. Olga” is a princess with a raised cross, in a red crown and a white veil. Blue and gold robes give the image weight.

What the picture shows

The saint stands frontally: a tall red crown set with beaded stones, a white veil worked in pearl beads falling from under it. The outer robe is blue with a wide gold band across the shoulders and sleeves. Her right hand, raised to shoulder height, holds a dark cross; her left hand is lowered. The halo is gathered from amber beads and the ground is golden rays. At the bottom there is a pale plaque set in a gold frame, with two squares of red-and-gold bead ornament on either side of it. Beads cover the robes, the halo and the border, the face and hands stay printed, and gold print shows between the bead rows on the ground.
