Description

“St. Natalia” is a martyr with a cross and an open scroll. A red veil against a green underdress gives a clear contrast.

What the picture shows

The saint stands slightly turned to the right. The veil and outer robe are worked in red beads, the edge of the veil trimmed with tiny white pearls. A green sleeve shows underneath. Her right hand holds a dark cross on a slim shaft, her left an open white scroll covered with lines of writing. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays with red accents at the top. The beading takes the robes, the halo and the plaque frame, while the face, the hands and the rays stay printed on the canvas.
