Mini Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Nadiia"
Description
“St. Nadegda” is a young martyr with open palms at her chest. Red robes, green sleeves and white pearls at the neck.
What the picture shows
The saint is shown to the waist, her gaze open and direct. A string of white pearl beads runs round her neck and shoulders in two falling arcs. The outer robe is red, the sleeves green with a white edge. Both palms are raised to her chest and turned towards the viewer. The halo is worked in two rings of amber beads, and golden rays spread from behind her head. A plaque in a gold frame finishes the image at the bottom, and the corners on either side are filled with fine red-and-gold ornament. The clothing, the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the palms and the golden rays are left to the print.

At 100×150 mm the piece is about the size of a palm, which is why the kit is often a first bead icon. The carved frame in the photo is not part of the kit — the finished embroidery is framed separately, in a narrow moulding or an icon case. The canvas is cut with a margin on all sides so the finished piece is easy to stretch.
