Description

“St. Martha” is a mini icon of the martyr whose robe is split in two: blue and red. An upright image of 100×150 mm for a home icon corner or as a name-day gift.

What the picture shows

A white and pale blue veil covers the saint’s head, strung with rows of pearl beads that border her face closely and fall over her shoulders. Below, the robe is divided from top to bottom into two equal fields: dense blue on the left and deep red on the right. In her right hand she holds a dark eight-pointed cross on a short shaft, wound with a strand of pearls; her left hand is raised, with the same strand at the wrist. The halo is gathered from amber and dark brown rings, and the rays behind stay as print on the art canvas, showing between the rows of stitching.
