Description

“St. Lubov” is a young martyr with uncovered hair and a gold cross. Red robes with beaded ornament at the chest.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist without a veil: chestnut hair is brushed back to leave her forehead open. The outer robe is red, and a wide golden panel worked in amber beads as an ornament stands out on her chest. Her right hand, raised to shoulder height, holds a gold cross on a slim shaft. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays. A gold border with square rosettes at the corners runs along the edge of the canvas, and a plaque with the saint's name lies at the bottom. Beads cover the robe, the halo and the border, while the face and hands stay printed on the canvas; most of the golden radiance also stays print.
