Description

“St. Liya” is a mini icon of the righteous foremother, her hands folded on her chest. An upright image of 100×150 mm for a home icon corner or as a name-day gift.

What the picture shows

A blue and white veil covers the saint’s head, edged with rows of pearl beads that form a dense border around her face and run on into a broad collar at her shoulders. Her robe is dark green with shadows of a deeper shade in the folds, and a large red field runs down the front with a thin gold stripe at its centre. Her hands are folded crosswise on her chest. The halo is gathered from amber and dark brown rings, and the rays behind stay as print on the art canvas. A three-line cartouche sits below, flanked by gold rosettes flecked with red.
