Description

“St. Innokenty” is a mini icon of the bishop in his mitre: an image built from blue, white and red. Upright format, 100×150 mm.

What the picture shows

The bishop is shown half-length in a tall dark violet mitre studded with pale beads along the band and ribs. His beard is long and grey-green, his face elongated. The sakkos is blue with red and white stripes at the sleeves; over it lies a white omophorion with crosses, and a panagia hangs on a chain at his chest. Both hands are folded in front. The halo is gathered from several rings of amber beads, while the golden rays behind stay as print on the art canvas. A three-line cartouche sits below, with beaded rosettes on gold on either side, and a narrow beaded strip runs around the edge of the image.
