Description

“St. Helen” is an empress in a crown, her hand resting on a pale blue casket. The strongest blue-and-white note in this part of the series.

What the picture shows

A crown of red, white and blue beads sits on the saint's head, and a pale blue veil edged with a row of white pearls falls from under it. A wide blue shoulder piece with gold inserts covers her shoulders, and deep red clothing worked in dense horizontal rows runs below. Her right hand rests on a pale blue casket with a white lid. The halo is a double ring of dark and amber beads and the ground is golden rays. At the bottom there is a pale plaque set in a gold frame, with two squares of red-and-gold bead ornament on either side of it. Beads cover the clothing, the halo and the border; the face and hands stay printed, and gold print shows between the bead rows on the ground.
