Description

“St. Gleb” is a young prince in a violet cloak and a fur-trimmed cap. Violet with red and gold.

What the picture shows

The prince is shown to the waist, beardless, with dark hair. He wears a low cap with a red-and-gold crown and dark fur trim. A violet cloak falls from his shoulders in wide folds, with darker clothing edged in gold beneath. His right hand, raised to his chest, holds a small cross. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays. A pale name plaque closes the composition at the bottom between two ornamental squares, and a narrow gold border runs round the edge. The cloak, the cap, the ring of the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the gold ground are left to the print.
