Description

“St. Fotinia (Svetlana)” is a martyr in a tall pearl headdress. A red cloak over green and violet clothing.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, her gaze level and direct. A tall headdress of white and blue beads covers her head, with pearl strands falling on both sides. A red cloak lies over her shoulders, green clothing shows beneath it and a violet-blue band runs lower down. Her right hand is raised to her chest. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays. A plaque in a gold frame finishes the image at the bottom, and the corners on either side are filled with fine red-and-gold ornament. The clothing, the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hand and the golden rays stay printed on the canvas.
