Mini Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Eugene"

“St. Eugene” is a young martyr in a red cloak with a small cross. Red over blue.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, with short dark hair and a small beard. The blue tunic is worked in beads of two tones, and a red cloak lies over it, falling from his right shoulder and covering most of the figure. His left hand holds a slender gold cross, his right is pressed to his chest. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays. A plaque in a gold frame finishes the image at the bottom, and the corners on either side are filled with fine red-and-gold ornament. The clothing, the ring of the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the gold ground are left to the print.

At 100×150 mm the piece is about the size of a palm, which is why the kit is often a first bead icon. The carved frame in the photo is not part of the kit — the finished embroidery is framed separately, in a narrow moulding or an icon case. The canvas is cut with a margin on all sides so the finished piece is easy to stretch.
