Mini Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Elijah"

“St. Elijah” is a prophet with a long white beard and a raised hand. Violet under red — an uncommon combination in the series.

What the picture shows

The prophet is shown to the waist, with a thick white beard and hair swept back. The violet tunic is worked in beads of several tones, with a wide red cloak falling from his left shoulder over it. His right hand is raised with the palm open, his left holds the folds of the cloak. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays spreading from his head. A pale name plaque closes the composition at the bottom between two ornamental squares, and a narrow gold border runs round the edge. Beads cover the clothing, the halo and the border, while the face and hands stay printed on the canvas; most of the golden radiance also stays print.

At 100×150 mm the piece is about the size of a palm, which is why the kit is often a first bead icon. The carved frame in the photo is not part of the kit — the finished embroidery is framed separately, in a narrow moulding or an icon case. The canvas is cut with a margin on all sides so the finished piece is easy to stretch.
