“St. Dmitri” is a holy prince holding a small white church. The image is warm, built on red and gold.

What the picture shows

The prince stands almost frontally, in a red cloak over dark blue princely robes worked with gold. He wears a low red cap with fur trim and a few green and red stones. His right hand holds a white church with a golden dome, his left rests on his chest. The halo is a ring of amber beads, and golden rays spread out behind the figure. A red name plaque sits at the bottom between two ornamental squares. Beads cover the robes, the halo and the border, while the face and hands stay printed on the canvas; most of the golden radiance behind him also stays print.

The canvas is cut with a margin on all sides so the finished piece is easy to stretch.
