Description

“St Cyrus” is a mini icon of the venerable saint with both hands raised in prayer. A small upright image of 100×150 mm, stitched for oneself or as a name-day gift.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown half-length, both palms lifted before her chest in the ancient gesture of prayer. A blue maphorion covers her head, laid in several shades from pale sky to deep ultramarine, and the robe beneath is red with green cuffs at the wrists. The halo is gathered from amber beads in two rings. Yellow rays spread out behind the figure: they stay as print on the art canvas, while the beads cover only the figure, the halo and the border around the edge. Below sits a three-line cartouche flanked by gold and red rosettes.
