Description

“St. Claudia” is a mini icon of the martyr in violet dress with a cross in her hand. An upright image of 100×150 mm, for a home icon corner or as a gift to someone of that name.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown as a young woman in a pearl-white head veil worked in large pale beads with blue shadows along the edge. A gold collar of small amber beads sits across her shoulders, and the dress is violet-lilac with fine dark folds; a green sleeve shows at one side. In her right hand she holds a small dark eight-pointed cross, her left is raised palm forward. The halo is a ring of amber beads, and the rays behind stay as print on the canvas. A three-line cartouche sits below, with red rosettes in the corners.
