Description

“St. Boris” is a prince in a dark fur-trimmed cap and a red cloak. Dark blue, red and a gold-green pattern.

What the picture shows

The prince is shown to the waist, with a fair beard and a dark cap edged with fur. A red cloak falls from his shoulders, with dark blue clothing and a long string of pale beads at the chest beneath it. A gold-green pattern worked in fine beads lies on the sleeve to the right. His right hand is pressed to his chest. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays. A plaque in a gold frame finishes the image at the bottom, and the corners on either side are filled with fine red-and-gold ornament. Beads cover the clothing, the halo and the border, while the face and hands stay printed on the canvas; most of the golden radiance also stays print.
