Description

“St. Artemy” is a warrior with a spear and a shield, in a violet cloak. The most detailed male image in the batch.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, with a fair beard and curly hair. A violet cloak falls from his right shoulder, with golden scale armour worked in fine amber beads in rows beneath it. He holds a pink-red shield on the left and a long spear in his right hand, running vertically along the whole image. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays. At the bottom there is a pale plaque set in a gold frame, with two squares of red-and-gold bead ornament on either side of it. The armour, the cloak, the shield, the ring of the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the gold ground are left to the print.
