Description

“St. Antonina” is a martyr in a white headdress, in green robes with a red underdress. Green leads here.

What the picture shows

The saint stands slightly turned, her head bowed. The headdress is worked in white pearl beads laid in dense rows that fall onto her shoulders. The outer robe is green with wide folds, and a red band shows beneath it. Her right hand, raised to shoulder height, holds a pale cross on a slim shaft. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays. A gold border runs along the whole edge, and the lower part of the image is taken up by a name plaque between two ornaments. The clothing, the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the golden rays stay printed on the canvas.
