Description

“St. Anthony” is an elder with a very long white beard and a scroll in his hand. The lightest male icon in the batch — ochre and sand tones.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, with a very long white beard falling over his chest. The monastic robe is worked in ochre and sand beads in several close tones, so the figure nearly merges with the warm ground. His left hand holds a pale rolled scroll, his right is lowered with the palm up. The halo is a ring of amber beads and the ground is golden rays. The beading takes the robe, the halo and the plaque frame, while the face and hands remain printed, and the radiance stays print as well.
