Description

“St. Anastasia” is a saint holding a small dark vessel. A blue mantle over green clothing.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, her head slightly bowed. The veil is white and blue, worked in pale beads, with a darker cap beneath. A blue mantle covers her shoulders and back, and green clothing with a red band at the bottom shows from under it. Both hands hold a small dark narrow-necked vessel at her chest. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays. At the bottom there is a pale plaque set in a gold frame, with two squares of red-and-gold bead ornament on either side of it. The clothing, the halo and the border are beaded; the face, the hands and the golden rays stay printed on the canvas.
