“The Scarlet Flower” is a black-and-white dalmatian lying under a large red flower.

What the picture shows

The puppy has settled into the bottom left corner: head on its paws, ears drooping, black spots scattered over white fur. A large red flower with pointed petals opens above it. Red beads fill the centre and the lower petals, while clear amber beads outline every petal and run as a continuous frame around the canvas. The ground is light, almost white, with a blue shadow under the puppy. 160 beads in two colours. The beads do not cover the canvas completely: the printed image around them stays open, and every shade missing from the beads is given by the print itself. On a 50×50 mm square every bead shows, so it helps to lay the stitches in an even row facing one way.
