Description

“Owl – 1” is a stylised owl with huge round eyes against an orange sunset.

What the picture shows

The owl is drawn decoratively: a purple head, a blue and white patterned body with teardrop motifs, ginger eyes with black pupils. White pearl beads ring the eyes in wide circles and run in rows down the breast, while lilac beads trace the head, wings and feet. The background is a warm orange-yellow gradient with lilac strokes; it stays as print and gives the piece its evening light. The contrast of cool white against the warm ground is the main effect here. 150 beads in two colours. The canvas is not filled edge to edge — the beads follow the main lines and the rest stays printed, which is why the piece reads as a drawing rather than a solid beaded carpet. Preciosa beads are calibrated and even in size, so the rows come out straight without sorting them first.
