“Little owl and mistletoe” is a white owl in a red cap sitting on a branch with red berries.

What the picture shows

The bird faces you directly: round eyes with dark pupils, a small yellow beak, and a body worked entirely in white pearl beads so that it looks properly fluffy. Red beads cover the cap with its white trim and gather into clusters of berries on both sides of the branch. The leaves are green and pointed, printed on the canvas. The ground is dark blue with lilac swirls and white specks of snow. White and red against blue is the main move of this piece. 142 beads. The background is not stitched: it is printed on the canvas and shows between the beads, so the picture is built on the play of print against raised beadwork. The piece is small and easy to carry along or save for an evening when you want to make something by hand.
