Description

“Young magician” is a girl with a wand standing on an open yellow flower.

What the picture shows

The flower fills the lower half of the canvas: the broad petals stay printed, with long rows of yellow, orange and white beads running over them along the veins. A girl in a full raspberry dress stands on the bloom; her skirt is drawn with curved strings of pink and white beads, the bodice and sleeves are green and densely beaded, and a green bud-shaped hat sits on her head. In her hand is a wand with a red-and-gold star. Another yellow poppy shows in the distance on the left, green grass with beaded stems runs below, and the blue sky above stays printed. The petals are worked in long curved rows radiating from the centre of the flower, with the printed petal showing between them. The dress is beaded in tiers: strings of pink alternate with open raspberry print. The green bodice, by contrast, is beaded solidly. The grass below is made of separate stems of green beads, so the lower edge never looks empty.
