Description

Volkswagen shows the round badge with V above W and the marque name below. It is the most economical piece in the series colour-wise.

What the picture shows

The letters are worked in pale pearl beads with occasional dark ones dropped in as shadow on the edges, while the two rings of the rim are tight rows of white and deep blue. The blue field inside the circle stays as print, and that is exactly where the mark looks cleanest. The word Volkswagen below is set in fine pale beads straight over the printed road. The towers, the lights and the streaks on the tarmac also stay as print — on art canvas the beads are placed selectively. Three colours cover everything — the shortest range in the series — and it works because the printed blue field is left open inside the circle.
