Mini Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "Vase with poppies"

“Vase with poppies” shows three red poppies in a low cream vase against an old damask pattern.

What the picture shows

The bouquet is arranged off-centre: the large poppy on the left opens its petals towards the viewer, the second leans to the right, and between them sit dark centres and small green seed heads. The petals are worked in several reds — from brick orange in the light to almost burgundy in the shade; the stems and leaves are green with darker veins. The vase is small, peach and cream, with a white band at the foot that is beaded as well. The background — beige damask with a faint plant pattern — stays printed on the canvas, so the beaded bouquet stands out in relief. Eleven colours carry the shading inside every petal. The small buds above the largest bloom are worked in a darker red, so they sit deeper in the bunch. The beads follow the petals in rows, and along the outline of the flowers it is easy to see where the embroidery stops and the print begins.
