Description

Two cockerels shows a pair of roosters facing each other in a mirrored composition with flowers, drawn in the style of folk paper-cuts.

What the picture shows

The plumage is worked in yellow, orange and red rows, the wings in blue, green and turquoise, the breasts in black and white beads. The combs and wattles are laid out in red and the feet outlined in black. The tulips and the flower at the top stay mostly printed, while the blue buds at the sides are beaded in blue and pale blue. Below, two cornflowers are made in turquoise and blue with yellow centres, the leaves in green. The black contour lines that divide the composition are solid rows of black beads, and a border of white flowers on black runs around the edge. The grey ornament of the background stays as full-colour print. Twelve colours and the highest bead count among these miniatures.
