Description

The summer limons shows two whole lemons and three juicy slices on a blue checked cloth, together with daisies and red flowers.

What the picture shows

The slices are the most detailed part: yellow and white rays spread from the centre and a dense yellow rim runs around the edge. The whole fruits are outlined in gold and orange, with dots on the peel. The leaves are laid out in dark green beads two or three rows wide, the daisies in white and pale blue with yellow centres, the red flowers in red and orange. The bees on the background and the blue check itself stay printed on the canvas: the beads work on the fruit and the flowers while the canvas gives air. Ten colours in a fresh yellow-and-blue range, and this is the largest bead count among the summer still lifes in the series.
