Description

Tafra-11 is an open 1920s tourer in beige, with tall wheels and a folded hood. It looks like a frame from an old postcard.

What the picture shows

The body is worked in warm beads — pearl, cream and amber, with gold stripes along the flank and the bonnet. White and silver beads make the radiator, headlamps and side lamps; the tall wheels are black with silver spokes and white rims. The folded hood is picked out in dark glossy beads. The row of old houses with balconies and bay windows is drawn in pencil on the canvas and left unbeaded, so the beige car steps forward out of an almost graphic background. All eight colours serve one idea — the sun-bleached coachwork — so the warm tones run into one another almost imperceptibly.
