Description

“Sweet joy” shows a spaniel puppy in a pink gift box, with cupcakes and a lollipop beside it.

What the picture shows

The puppy is white with russet ears and a patch around one eye; nose and eyes are laid in black beads, and its paws hang over the edge of the box. The box itself is pink, with a lace cloth and a bow. Three cupcakes in striped cases, topped with cream and a cherry, stand in front, and a large pink and white spiral lollipop rises on the left. The soft grey-mint ground is even and stays as print on the canvas, so the beaded puppy, box and sweets come forward clearly. The puppy's coat is worked in short rows of two shades, white and russet, laid in the direction the fur grows. The cream on the cupcakes is beaded as a spiral, and the cherries are marked with a few red beads each.
