Description

“Surfing” shows a green camper van and surfboards beside a beach shack under a palm tree.

What the picture shows

A classic van stands on the left: the body is worked in lime and dark green beads, the roof and windows in white and pale blue, the wheels in grey with black hubs, and the headlights as white bead rosettes. To the right is the shack under an orange-and-red striped roof with a wooden “Surf Shack” sign. Three boards lean against the wall — a blue-and-white one with flowers, a red-orange one and a pink one — each edged with a row of beads. A palm with green and yellow fronds leans over the van. Sand, blue sea, clouds and gulls stay as printing; only the wavy marks in the sand are picked out in beads. The van body is filled with long horizontal rows and the boards run lengthways, so the two textures do not merge.
