Description

Sunny peaches shows two ripe peaches and two halves with the stone on a warm ochre ground.

What the picture shows

The outlines of the fruit are worked in orange, yellow and red beads, the rows following the edge and stressing the roundness. The halves are more detailed: white and yellow beads radiate from the middle, the stone is built from small brown beads with pink dashes around it. The leaves on the right are laid out in two shades of green, the stalk in dark brown. The flesh of the peaches and the ochre ground stay as full-colour print on the canvas. A beaded border runs around the picture — stripes of brown, beige and cream with fans in the corners — and it is what holds the composition. Eleven colours in a warm peach-and-brown range. The corner fans of the border are worked in dark brown beads and close the composition.
