Description

Sunflower still life shows a bunch of sunflowers in a blue jug painted with daisies, with forget-me-nots in a green pot and a bowl of fruit beside it.

What the picture shows

The sunflower petals are worked in yellow beads radiating from the centres, and the centres themselves are rings of brown and gold. The small red flowers between them are made as rosettes, the forget-me-nots as pale blue beads with white and yellow middles. The jug is outlined in turquoise with a golden band around its neck, while the painted daisies on its blue side are left without beads. The green checked cloth and the ochre wall are not filled either: the beads follow the rim of the bowl and the green border that frames the composition. Nine colours hold a warm yellow-green palette with one blue accent. Emerald stitches pick out the green leaves above the bowl.
