Mini Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "Strawberry"

What the picture shows

The composition is horizontal: two large berries lie side by side in the centre, each worked in red and dark cherry with a scatter of yellow seeds. Above them are three flowers with white and pale blue petals and yellow centres, and around them spread serrated leaves in several greens, from light lime to almost dark emerald. Small dark beads mark the runners and the shadows under the berries. The background — pale pink canvas with printed white scrolls — is not covered: the beads go only into the berries, leaves and flowers, and the piece lives on that difference of texture. The berries are the most densely beaded part and stand out noticeably next to the smooth printed ground. The leaves, by contrast, are stitched more loosely, in single rows along the veins, so the greenery reads lighter than the fruit.
