Description

“Snow friends” shows two snowmen in striped scarves standing side by side beside their presents.

What the picture shows

The larger snowman wears a white hat with a holly leaf, the smaller one a green pointed cap; both are outlined in white and grey beads, their buttons and coal eyes worked in black and their carrot noses in orange. The scarves are striped, with green, turquoise, red and white beads laid in short rows. Gift boxes marked out in green and blue and a green mitten sit to the left and right. The pale grey ground with its printed circles of snow is left free of beads: on art canvas they do not cover the surface and work only on the figures and the accents. The scarves are the most densely beaded part — short bands of colour run across them and carry the mood of the whole piece. The snowmen are outlined in white beads, while the pale print inside is left to read as snow.
